Wombat For ResMan (W4R) is the essential add-on to your ResMan system. It will help you to leverage information contained in the thousands of documents attached to ResMan. Here are just a few reasons you will benefit from using Wombat. Click on a heading to get further information:
No additional data entry is required. In fact, Wombat will automatically find the Candidate entry in ResMan and display all relevant data while viewing the Resume. Wombat automatically indexes every word in your documents so that searching through Resumes requires no extra data entry.
Wombat For ResMan allows you to search for any word or phrase in a document. Wombat can search thousands of documents in just a few seconds. Wombat provides powerful search features to ensure you find the right candidate quickly, many of them triggered automatically.
Where some standard search engines can only offer boolean and wildcard searches, Wombat adds phrase, word promximity, paragraph proximity, date and number range searching, stemming, conflation, database filtering, as well as automatic synonym searching.
The built-in (and customisable) thesaurus helps pick up similar terms without any extra effort (Search on CEO and Wombat will also locate terms like Managing Director, Director, President, Chairman etc).
Proximity searching allows even better granularity on searches (search on Project within 5 words of Manager, while word expansion is switched on will find "I manage large projects" and "Manager of multi-million dollar projects"), whilst preventing false hits from documents that simply have both words spread through the text.
Easily locate skills that have not been catalogued; find people based on postcodes, suburbs, phone numbers, skills, hobbies, work experience, typing speeds and so on.
Search Word documents, Acrobat files, HTML, RTF, Excel, PowerPoint and other files quickly and easily.
Once you have your list of documents that match your search criteria you can browse through the list, with each item instantly showing the text of the document. Review each document with words you searched on highlighted in a bold colour. You can print or open the document, or mark it to work with later. A simple toggle also shows you a host of related information stored within ResMan - without needing to open up ResMan to view the data!
Intelligent ResMan Integration
Wombat For ResMan displays ResMan data in a unique single glance summary screen. Text searches automatically link key candidate information directly from ResMan to show actions, skills, demographics, status, division, salary wanted, seeking perm/contract etc on a single screen. Pre-select just active candidates if you wish.
We have made it easy to tag candidates of interest and then return that list of candidates directly back to ResMan to generate actions, refine searches, print, email and so on.
If you started your search from ResMan, Wombat will automatically tag all documents that have already come up in the ResMan database search.
Maximise your store of knowledge
Why use Wombat instead of ResMan skill matching? Well, we see it more of a case of complimentary benefits, where you maximise your store of knowledge. You may need to search resumes when:
The skill you are looking for is so rare it was never catalogued (jam, views)
You need to review early resumes where the skill was not catalogued at that point in time (java)
You are searching on other information (sports interests, employers, job history, references)
You need to combine resume content with ResMan search criteria
You are looking through Resumes not entered into ResMan (grads, rejects, internet flood mail
Optional Image Management with SKAN
SKAN is used to help link scanned images (such as passports, visa and work permit documentation, scanned resumes) to ResMan. What makes the SKAN utility so useful is that it will first check for duplicates, and if a previous document is found, the user gets a chance to overwrite or append to the document. The Append function will convert the current scanned image to a multi-page TIF file, then add the new pages to the end of the document.
